Ernst Graewe was born on July 14th, 1894 in Koblenz, Germany. On August 26th, 1913 he joined the Army as a Fahnenjunker at age of 19, in the 13th Foot Artillery Regiment. He fought in the trenches of the Great War was wounded twice
